In Memory of Larry Feuerborn

Larry Feuerborn (article from the Garnett paper Oct. 31, 1966)

Larry Feuerborn, 19-year-old Garnett youth, died about 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, when his car went out of control on a gravel road six and a half miles west of Garnett.
Feuerborn, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Denis Feuerborn, Route 2, Garnett, was accompanied by Donna Parcht, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pracht, Westphalia.
Both youths were thrown from the 1965 Ford when Feuerborn lost control of the vehicle as it left the black-topped Garnett-Westphalia road and hit the gravel county road. The westbound vehicle went off the right side of the road into a deep embankment and completely overturned landing on its wheels.
Miss Pracht, who suffered minor cuts, bruises and a broken toe, summoned help at the Larry Eichman home located one-fourth of a mile west of the scene of the accident.
The accident was investigated by Patrolman Jerry Wohler and Sheriff Bill Gadelman.
Feuerborn was not killed instantly but died at the scene of the accident. He attended Holy Angels grade school in Garnett and was a member of the class of 1965 at Garnett High School. He was employed at Taylor Forge and Pipe Works in Paola.

(note: Larry was an only child and was born August 8, 1947)
